Calm Before the Storm

Paul:
Empty, our apartment is empty. Cardboard cubes of possessions are neatly stacked ready for the U-Haul. The TV and 360 are not packed yet, since they are still in use...thank you Halo for all of your stress relief. I guess the kitchen is left as well but, overall, everything is ready to go. I feel bad for my dog, he doesn't know what's coming...look, oblivious.
All he knows is that there are less items in the apartment to chew on or stare at. He'll be living in Omaha with Dev's mom, it's a good home. Now, onto Japan. Truthfully, nervous as can be. There's only so much you could prepare, other than learning Japanese...as it turns out, it's not easy. We're ready for something new though, we'll post more after the move.

Devan:
Paul said I had to start on my half of the blog, “right now!” I’m not really in a typing mood so don’t expect much. Also, to save time on my part, I’m going to assume that those of you reading this already know that Paul and I are moving to Japan to teach Japanese children English.
I think I was asked, “Sooooo, are you ready/excited yet?” for the one millionth time today by the same co-workers, friends, and strangers that have been asking for the last month. Yes, I am excited to have this time of preparation over. No, I am not excited to leave my dog behind. In fact, I care so little for the thought of leaving my helpless baby with no clue of why he was abandoned that I would rather not comment about it right now. No, I am not ready. As they say in Apollo 13, I have 975 steps to complete and I am on step 42. (not an exact quote but you get the idea)
Despite the load of details to keep track of and the stress of leaving, I am looking forward to our trip. We are going with a really great group of people and I know we will only become better friends as we go through this together.

Aunt Nita states: Hey! Try flying to China -- Wes was on a plane for about 22 hours! Sorry you had such a crummy four hours! You can only watch so many movies -- my ears hurt on the way to Germany. Looking forward to hearing more of your adventures!
Love you!
